<p>Shainal Verma is a Ph.D. scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Her research interests include theorizing gender, caste, popular culture, pedagogy, and women’s movement in India. She is a graduate with a BA (Hons.) in Journalism from Delhi University and an MA in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University. She realized her love for expression while pursuing Journalism, a subject that encourages different forms of communication and dialogue. Shainal has used her poetry to talk about different aspects of her life—love, heartbreak, lessons, relationships, mothers, and women, and she hopes to publish more poetry as she learns more about life and herself.</p>
<p>Shainal hopes and believes in the use and dissemination of poetry to improve the social aspects of our lives and believes it works as a tool to listen to our repressed emotions. On most days, you can find her writing about not just the grand but also the banal.</p>
