The early hours of falling night in the jungle, with its cool breeze laden with
unknown sweet smell was intoxicating. It was a glorious moonlit night…
I had a straight fall from several hundred feet. I squatted to hold the rock but
there were loose stones; the reflection of the sun on the distant snow-covered
peaks was dazzling the eyes…
A few opinions about the book –

4.0 out of 5 stars An amazing novel about a soldier's life. Reviewed
on 6 August 2020
This novel fascinated me most as I like ...This is a memoir .. of a
soldier. His journey starts from Tanakpur and stretches ... various
parts of the country. The narrative... of 1960s mainly,...events of
war with China and Pakistan. .the narrative is quite real and full of
information of that time. I loved the coverage of the mountains.. A
lovely book to look back that glorious time when India was struggling
in all aspects and people like Capt. J Prasad contributed most in all
capability
