The Suitcase

It was 12:00 in the night. There was silence all around. The road was completely empty. A taxi driver named Tony was slowly going towards his house in his car in the dark of night. He had a black suitcase in his car. He had bought it from the market and it was completely empty. He bought that suitcase because he needed it. He wanted to keep his documents in it. Tony was tired of driving a taxi all day, he wanted to go home to rest and have some food. Tony had a wife, a son and a daughter. Whatever money he earned by driving a taxi, he used to earn for his family. He was on his way home then he heard gunshots. When he looked back, a man was running and many men were chasing him. The man came to the taxi driver and said to him, “Help me. Some people want to kill me. Take me away from them.” Tony saw that the man was wearing a black mask and he had a black suitcase in his one hand.

Tony refused to help him and said, “You go somewhere else.” The man wearing the black mask did not agree and suddenly took out his gun and pointed it at Tony's head. Tony opened the door of the car out of fear and allowed him to enter into the car. Tony asked, “What should I do now?” The man said, “Just take me away from them. They are chasing me.” Tony increased the speed of the car and both of them came away from there. The man had pointed a gun to Tony’s head and Tony was driving. Tony said, “Leave me. I have a small family. What do you want from me? What wrong had I done to you? You will gain nothing by killing me.” The man said, "Keep driving quietly. I won't kill you. Do as I say or else I will be forced to shoot you in the head." Tony obeyed him and Tony kept driving quietly. Tony was getting scared inside. The man started humming a song. The man said, “What a nice weather. Roads are empty and we are alone. There is no pollution either.” Tony asked, “What do you want to say?” The man said, “Nothing, you keep driving.” The man asked Tony, “How will you be in the future, what do you think. How would you look? How will your family be?” Tony said, “What nonsense are you talking about? How will I know what I will look like in the future and what condition my family will be in?” The man laughed.

Tony asked, “Where do you want to go now?” The man said, “Just keep going.” The man asked Tony, "You know who I am?" Tony said, “No, I don’t know.” The man said, "I have come from the future and those who were following me also came from the future." Tony could not believe his words. Tony said, “Do you think I'm an idiot? That is never possible.” The man said, “I know you will not believe my words. I’m a contract killer. My job is to come from the future into the past to kill people and to take the proof of their death in the future.”

The man asked Tony, “Do you know what’s in my black suitcase?” Tony said, "I don't know what's in that."

The man said, “There is a severed head of a man in this suitcase and this is the proof to be shown in the future. I came from 2050 to 2030 to kill a man. After killing him, I wanted to go back to the future with his severed head but by mistake I came in 2022.” Tony asked, “Are you joking?” After a while the man said, “Just stop the car here.” The man got out of the car and drove away with the suitcase. Tony had the phone. If he wanted, he could have called the police but he did not do any such thing. Tony left for his house and reached his house. When Tony got down with his suitcase, he saw that the suitcase was not his. That suitcase belonged to that man. The man had gone away with Tony’s suitcase by mistake. Tony thought, “Should I open this suitcase? Should I call the police? Should I give this suitcase to the police?” Tony changed his mind and decided to open the suitcase. When Tony opened the suitcase, his senses were blown away. Tony trembled with fear. His heart started beating faster. Tony saw that his severed head was kept in that suitcase and 2030 was written inside that suitcase. Tony closed that suitcase and suddenly put the suitcase in his car.
