The Last Good-bye

Rahul is a young man. He is sitting at a restaurant. The restaurant is near a beach. He is waiting for someone.
Have you ever felt the feeling of meeting someone for the first time and expressing all your feelings and just waiting for them to have their one look for the first time? You are waiting for them at a place where they said he/she will come and meet you there. And as time passes that place will become your most favorite place in the world.

But Rahul was sitting there. He was waiting for someone to come and meet him. But it is not the first time. This place has become his favorite place in recent months.

He was sitting there and thinking about the first time he met her there and how much he was nervous about the whole thing. He reached the place 1 Hour before the time decided. She chose the timing and the place. He was thinking about how he will able to talk to her. They only have talked on calls and messages till now. This is their first meeting in the real world When they are going to stand in front of each other for the first time.

He was nervous and also very excited to meet her. He took a deep breath. He calm himself down.
Soon she came. He saw her at the gate and she also saw him. She started walking towards him. He was just standing there and looking at her. Everything started to look more beautiful. She was looking really gorgeous in that white dress. Her smile was shining from the far. He just kept looking at her. He was not able to look anywhere else. He felt so lucky that he knew someone so beautiful and She is coming to meet him.

He was unable to help himself but just looking at her in a way that he is looking at the most beautiful think ever seen in this world.

She came at the table and said “Hi! Rahul.”

Rahul: Hi Mukta.

Mukta: How are you today?

Rahul: I am feeling the most beautiful feeling in this world.

Mukta: really! And why that so?

Rahul: Because I saw something so beautiful today that I have never seen in my entire life.

Mukta: and what is that? Please tell me too.

Rahul: I will show you that first I want to confirm something.

Mukta: okay. As you wish.

Then they sat on the table. They were really comfortable with each other. They had talked for 2 hours there. Then they moved to the beach and walked on the sea side.

Rahul: I never thought you could be this too. I was so terrified about what would I say to you.

Mukta: I was nervous too. But as soon as I saw you it felt like I know and I can be with you.

Rahul smiled and they continued walking.

As they walked little more Rahul saw a little girl selling some mirrors and flowers. He picked a antique mirror and a flower.

Rahul: I told you.. that I will show you what I saw today. That I have never seen before. The most beautiful thing in the world.

He handed over the mirror to Mukta and said “this is it”.

Mukta smiled and hugged him. Rahul offered flower to her.

Mukta said what is this.

Rahul purposed her and Mukta hugged him and they kissed on the beach in front of everyone.

They spent their entire day there.

Mukta was happy that finally Rahul purposed him and they are now officially in a relationship. On the other side Rahul was also happy that he finally able to confront her that he is in love with her.

In the night, Rahul received a message.

Mukta: Hi love…

Rahul: hey baby.

Mukta: how are you?

Rahul:I have received two good news today.

Mukta: What news?

Rahul: first I found love of my life and second I got my dream job.

Mukta: what I am so happy for you.

Rahul: yes baby I am happy for us.

But there is a problem.

Mukta: what?

Rahul: I have to move to Bangalore for the job.

Mukta: Really?

Rahul: yes. but we just met and took one step forward.

Mukta: don’t worry my love. Your job is also important. The day you will come back you will find me waiting here for you.

Rahul: I love you so much.

Mukta: I know(smiling).

Rahul: but I still have 1 month left to join there and we are going on a trip before I go.

Mukta: sure I would love to go with you.

Mukta and Rahul went on a trip to Manali and spend a week there. Then after they came back. Rahul started doing all the necessary preparation to go to Bangalore and join the Job.

Mukta: You are really busy these days after we came back from the trip.

Rahul: It’s nothing like that. I am just packing and making all the things right so I can go to Bangalore without any issue.

Mukta: no worries love. Do whatever you have to do and if you need my help you can tell me. I’ll help you.

Rahul: You are not angry that I am not talking to you?

Mukta: I can understand that you are busy. Don’t worry. Message me when you are free.

Rahul: Okay my love. You are the best.

Mukta: I know.

Then Rahul finished his work soon and called her after an hour. After that they talked for hours.

Days passed. The day came when Rahul had to leave for Bangalore.

All of them went to the airport. Mukta gave gifts to Rahul and they hugged and Rahul left.

As soon as he reached to the Bangalore airport Rahul called Mukta and they talked till he reached Bangalore.

He reached the room and called back Mukta. They talked the whole day and late at night.

Mukta wished him for the office the next day. They wished good night and slept.

Next day Rahul went to the office. He joined the office and there were no work for him to do as it was first day in the office.

He talked with some team members and get familiar. Then he video called Mukta and showed her the office and she stayed on the call till his manager called him. Then he went to meet the manager and manager, welcome Rahul in the office.

Manager: welcome Rahul and congratulations on joining the Bangalore office. We are really happy to welcome you in our family.

Rahul: Thank you sir.

Then it was evening time. Everybody going back home. Rahul always stayed on the call. He has a roommate in his flat. His roommate told him not to spend too much time with girlfriend. Once you will be busy with the work and not be able to talk to her then she will not be happy with that. Rahul told him in full confidence that she is not like others. She will understand.

But as the days passed, Rahul didn't have much time now to talk to Mukta. Soon they started fighting and it became so extreme soon both started pointing out each other's small things. Rahul tried to make everything fine and Mukta also wanted to understand. But nothing is working in this case and soon Mukta told Rahul that she wants some time for things and will not be able to continue in this way. She felt ignored and not important. But for Rahul she is the most important and the only thing that he wants in life. But he also wanted to tell her that job is important and will not be able to stand anywhere without it. But Mukta was staying on her point without moving an inch that she wanted time to spend and nothing else.

But soon the day came. They again met at the same place which was their favorite once. But this time they both had tears in their eyes. Mukta came and told Rahul that I am sure that you also don’t want this. But I feel you don’t love me anymore. Your work, your life and your people are the only things that are important for you.

Rahul: That is not true. That is not important but I had to do the work for us for our family.

Mukta: There is no family if you don’t have the time. I can’t stay like that. I am breaking this all.

Good bye… take care of yourself.

She said goodbye and left…

Rahul broken from inside and was not able to say a single word. He went outside and sat on the side of the sea.

He smiled and then started crying and cried for hours there. He was so sad about that he have done so much and tried his best still got nothing in return.

And left everything on the beach what ever he had. All of the things he have with him. His mobile and watch and the gifts that were givem by her and walked away.

He said:
Yeah that’s right. It's a Goodbye. Hope I’ll see on the other side and hope one day you will undestand me, understand my pain.

I loved you. I loved you from my heart and whatever i have. But you left me like i am nothing for you.
