Born in the quaint village of Talhari Buzurg, Saharanpur, UP, in 1964, Bijendra Pal's journey from humble beginnings to an illustrious career in corn breeding is nothing short of inspiring. Educated at Meerut University, Meerut, Bijendra has devoted over three decades to advancing corn breeding.
Professional Milestones:
Early Career - embarked on his professional journey in December 1991 as a Research Assistant at DMR, IARI New Delhi, India.
BIOSEED Era- In 1992, he joined BIOSEED as a Junior Corn Breeder, where his dedication and expertise saw him rise to the position of Deputy Director of Research, culminating in a celebrated retirement on May 8, 2024.
International Experience :
His career boasts rich international experience:
Vietnam- Served as a Research Manager for 4 years.
Philippines- Contributed 11 years of his expertise.
Regional Leadership- Held the role of Regional Research Manager, steering innovation and growth.
Family and Personal Life:
Bijendra’s personal life is anchored by the steadfast support of his wife, Munesh, since their marriage in 1982. Together, they have raised two sons, Sachin and Ankur, who undoubtedly draw inspiration from their father's commitment and achievements.

Post-retirement, Bijendra has embraced a new role as the Director of Research and Development at Premier Seed Thailand, based in Kamphaeng Phet, Thailand, continuing his legacy of innovation and leadership.
