Arulbalachandran D, Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany, School of Life Sciences, Periyar University, Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. His area of specialization in research is crop molecular breeding and stress physiology. He completed his doctoral degree in crop mutation breeding, Botany, Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu and he has more than seventee years of teaching experience. He is focusing on the research in the field of cytogenetics, mutation breeding and molecular analysis in crops and collaborated with various national and international institutes. He completed a research project under UGC and involved in the administrative work pertaining to academic side as a board member for curricula in various institutions and member of various scientific societies. He is reviewer of various national and international journals. He has published more than fifty research articles, seven book chapters on important aspects of crop molecular breeding and crop stress physiology, tolerance mechanism of exogenous abscisic acid induced drought stress. He edited a book entitled Sustainable Agriculture towards Food Security in Future published by Springer, Singapore and also contributed two text books viz., Ecology- Pollution and Biodiversity and Mutation Breeding in Crop Plants. He has delivered lectures in refresher courses and presented in international and national conferences for presenting his research findings.
