This topic leads naturally into the topic of waves. Sinusoidal waveforms arise from sources executing SHM; in addition, the equations for SHM are similar to those for wave motion. The book intended to meet the needs of B.Sc. (Pass, Honours and Subsidiary) and engineering students, covers the topics included in the latest syllabi of various Karnataka Universities.

Dr. Sharanappa Chapi
Dr. Sharanappa Chapi is currently working as Assistant Professor in Physics Department & HOD of Basic Sciences, B.V.V. Sangha’s, Amruta Institute of Engineering & Management Sciences (AIEMS) Bidadi, Bengaluru, Karnataka. He has more than 9 years of experience in teaching and academic research. He has acquired B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Maths in 2010 & M.Sc. in Physics (Condensed Matter Physics) in 2012, from Karnatak University Dharwad. He worked as JRF/SRF from 2013 to 2016 and Ph.D. (Solid State Physics) in 2017 from Mangalore University Mangalagangotri, Mangalore. He joined KLE Society’s J T College Gadag as Assistant Professor from 2016 to 2020.
Till now, he contributed more than 45 journals articles in scientific journals, 40 conference papers, ten book chapters, and performed the review services for about six SCI journals. He is also the editorial board member of many international peer-review journals.
His research interests include polymer electrolytes, thin films, low-dimensional nanomaterial’s, etc., and the relative novel device applications in energy harvesting, conversion, and storage. The current focus of his research is on nanocomposites comprising polymers with conductivity and dielectric nanoparticles, characterization of their structure, electrochemical and electrical properties.
