From Analyst To CISSP A Structured Approach to Mastering CISSP and Security Leadership Thinking

Author Name: Surabhi Sadasivan | Format: Paperback | Genre : Educational & Professional | Other Details

You've studied the domains. You've put in the hours. So why does the exam still feel uncertain?

The problem isn't your preparation. It's your perspective.

Every CISSP question expects you to reason like a CISO - not a security engineer. That single shift separates the almost-right answer from the correct one.

From Analyst to CISSP is built exclusively for candidates who have completed their domain study and are now preparing for exam day. It is the only preparation book that treats the CISSP as a mindset exam - one that rewards governance thinking, risk-based judgment, and managerial reasoning over technical depth.

Inside, you will learn to:

Apply the S.A.F.E. Decision Model - a universal framework for evaluating every exam answer through Strategy, Administrative Controls, Feasibility, and Evidence & Accountability

Use Domain Mindset Guides for all 8 domains - so you stop answering as an engineer and start answering as a CISO

Recognize and deprogram the 7 analyst biases that silently cause technically strong candidates to fail

Execute your final 30-day mindset conditioning blueprint - a reasoning programme, not a content schedule

Master the April 2026 ISC2 AI Security additions - all 24 content blocks integrated across all 8 domains

This is not another study guide. It is the final piece of the puzzle - the one that bridges knowledge and exam success.

Think like a CISSP. Pass like one.

Foreword by Adarsh Nair, CISSP - Author and Information Security Strategist

Surabhi Sadasivan

Surabhi Sadasivan is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Senior Information Security Analyst with deep experience in security governance, risk management, and compliance across enterprise environments. Her professional background spans multiple domains of the CISSP framework, with particular expertise in building the governance foundations that allow organisations to manage security strategically rather than reactively.

The journey that produced this book was a personal one. Having experienced the distinctive challenge of the CISSP examination - the realisation that technical expertise alone is insufficient, and that a deliberate identity shift from analyst to security leader is required - she became committed to making that shift accessible to other professionals. The S.A.F.E. model, the 10 Golden Rules, and the preparation framework in this book are the direct product of that commitment.

Surabhi holds certifications in ISC2 CC and dual ISO Lead Auditor credentials alongside her CISSP, and has led successful certification programmes spanning ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 22301, HITRUST, SOC2, and Cyber Essentials+ across global delivery centres. She is a practitioner and a mentor who believes that the security profession is elevated not only by individuals earning certifications, but by those who carry the governance mindset those certifications represent into their daily professional decisions and organisational leadership.

She holds a Master of Computer Applications from SCMS School of Technology and Management, Cochin, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University Institute of Technology, Kollam, both with First Class results. She is an active member of UWiSH (UST Women in Security & Hacking) and volunteers with the Kerala Police Cyberdome.
