We live in a world inundated by digital information. Neo Millennials are bombarded and constantly exposed to digital information. But despite this information overload, what remains to be seen is how skilled neo millennials are today, to evaluate the information they are exposed to, and how proficient they are in putting it to use. This book titled "New Literacy for Neo Millennials : Recent Trends in South India" covers and discusses a new skill set known as Digital Information Literacy (DIL) which is essential for the youth who roam in the digital environment. This book will explain what is DIL skill and why DIL Skill is essential. The author also developed a tool to assess the DIL skill of an individual, in which they can test their DIL level. This book will be useful for students, teachers, and institutions to test the DIL skill of a student.

Ms.Nidhya Balasubramanian is currently working in the Department of Visual Communication, Loyola College, Chennai. She teaches New Media Studies and PR campaign Strategies. She holds a Ph.D in Communication from MS University. Her doctoral thesis is on Digital Information Literacy Skills in Tamil Nadu. Her research areas are New Literacy Practices, Internet Addiction and Digital Detox. She worked in e-Governance, Social Awareness Campaigns and IEC projects.
