Shalaka Kulkarni
Shalaka Kulkarni is an award-winning flash fiction author based in Bangalore, India.
Her debut book, Orenda, a collection of 52 flash fiction stories set in modern India, won “Book of the Year: Reader’s Choice” at the Kavishala Book Awards 2021. Shalaka was invited as a speaker by Sahitya Akademi, the Ministry of Culture, the Govt. of India, and other prestigious literary festivals across the country.
She is the Founder and Chief Wordsmith at Write Click, where, as a Creative Capitalist, she crafts powerful brands for VCs, CXOs, startups, and more. With a Master’s in Marketing and a super specialisation in Neuromarketing, Shalaka combines creativity with strategy to elevate her clients’ impact.
Her growth journey was featured in the book Unboxing Bengaluru (Penguin). Shalaka was a top-five finalist in India for the Globant Women That Build Awards 2023 and has been recognised with several accolades, including e4m’s 30 under 30 Communications and PR, the Women Disruptors Award 2021, and more. Her TEDx Talk is titled “Trusting the Process”.
