The Industrial Relations Code, 2020 consolidates three earlier statutes governing industrial relations, namely the Trade Unions Act, 1926, the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946, and the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. However, the Code is not merely a consolidation exercise; it also introduces significant reforms to the existing legal framework. There is a dearth of books available on this newly notified Code. This book seeks to fill that critical gap by undertaking a comparative analysis of the provisions of the Code vis-à-vis the earlier legal regime and incorporating relevant judicial pronouncements to provide greater clarity.
