Cold winter months often symbolize loneliness and sorrow. As the temperature drops, we humans have a natural propensity to look inward, imagine and muse upon the thoughts that crop up in the mind. However, far from being depressing, the pieces in this book reflect a dauntless spirit of survival, rejuvenation and hope, perhaps echoing the words of P.B. Shelley that “If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?”
