Pandit Nehru rushed to the Frontier on his 'fact-finding and goodwill mission' for the tribals. He sent V. K. Krishna Menon on a special and secret mission to meet one of Stalin's closest allies and Soviet Minister of Foreign Affairs, V. M. Molotov.
Next year, surprisingly the former I.N.A. Commanders led a Frontier tribal attack on Kashmir.
