Kavitha Cariappa is a writer and Founder of Writing Hat, an online platform that hosts Writing Contests. She is passionate about the written word and works with individuals and teams to help them strengthen their written communication skills. 
 
An avid reader, Kavitha creates romance stories set in contemporary India, focusing specially on her homeland of Kodagu aka Coorg. Her fascination with community, culture, ethos, and tradition has led her to tell stories that capture the essence of a slowly diminishing community, the Kodavas.
 
Reading is more than just a hobby for her—it is her world. Her favorite genre is romance, and she has always been interested in writing. Understanding more about Indian culture and traditions is something she enjoys. Her interest in society and its evolution has set her on a journey of integrating these elements into light leading stories.
 
Now, a full-time writer, she designs and conducts training programs to help people strengthen their writing skills. 
 
After attending Mount Carmel College in Bangalore, Kavitha Cariappa worked as a ghostwriter and in Corporate Communications for two decades before quitting to become a full-time writing professional. Bangalore is her home, but she spends much of her time in Coorg, her hometown.
