Pradeep Gulati is a seafarer working with a multi-national ship management company as a Chief Engineer. He spent his schooling years in New Delhi before moving on for training in Marine Engineering in Kolkata and Mumbai. He has been working at sea since 1981.
The nature of his work takes him around the world, and he wishes to remain an active seafarer for as long as he is medically fit. His main interests, apart from reading and writing, are travelling and watching movies. In the 1980s, his short stories appeared in magazines like Savvy, Chic, Beautiful, Eve’s Weekly, Youth Times, etc.
His debut novel, A Brief Candle, was published in 2013.  He is also associated with writing the screenplay for a short film, The Inseparables, an official selection at international film festivals. Facets is his second book.
 
Pradeep Gulati is currently settled in Mumbai, where he lives with his wife, Kanika Dang, who is an actor by profession.
