I was born in Midnapore, West Bengal. Daughter of Dr. Sisir Chandra Das, a world famous Mathematician and educationist, my early childhood was spent in Madras city (now Chennai) and I I T (Indian Institute of Technology) where my father was a Prof. of Mathematics. Later my family shifted to BIT (Birla Institute of Technology), Mesra, Ranchi where I spent my growing years. This was a time of great self discovery for me. This collection of short stories is my first humble offering as a writer. The book contains a fictional story called 'The Jinx' All the other stories are autobiographical. It is my earnest hope that readers may relate to them and enjoy them just as I enjoyed recounting my experiences. If that happens, even partially, my purpose will be served.
