My book title ‘A Coffee cup has many Stories’ is a collection of poems and ideas which have touched my heart and given different hues to life and its journey. Each cup of coffee offers a new brew or blend to the traveller. Likewise, all pages of this little book of precious poems offer a unique blend of simple emotions like the first love and the tragedy of children dying in Gorakhpur because of medical negligence. The poems “Meeting JahaanAra” and “Jahaan Ara and Mirza” are written as a special tribute to the Mughal Princess JahaanAra. In other poems, the poet also talks about Princess JahaanAra's immortal love and a promise to meet in many births.
This partly historical work will reveal to the reader the world of aristocratic but genteel Indian Muslims, evolved and full of tehzeeb . The modern nuances are quirky, fun and romantic, so I hope it is the perfect cup for you!

Rubina Hasan Sami
Rubina Hasan Sami ,is presently based in Lucknow, although her first two poetry books were published in1995 and 2001 in Delhi. Always enjoying her way with words, her first letter was published in Femina at the age of 13 and has taken workshops on poetry writing and creative writing at the British Council, Delhi and Delhi Public School,Pune .As a keen environmentalist, she has organized various workshops for recycling garbage and conducted awareness campaigns for children through her organization The Lemon Grass Incorporation Delhi,Pune,Gorakhpur and Lucknow .Heading The Green Lawns School, Gorakhpur, as a Director and Executive Principal, her entire team and her late mother Mrs,Shahida Hasan had declared the premises as a non bad polythene zone, and the schoolchildren run their own nature club .
She is married her best friend ,Ghazali, and has two beautiful daughters Sarah and Ayesha; her family along with her brother Ahmer provides her the inspiration to write.
This poetry book is her labour of love and her promise to her departed parents .
