Reshma Bachwani
Reshma Bachwani Is a researcher by profession and a poet and singer by passion. In the past 10 years ‘education’ has been the subject of most of her commissioned research. During this time, she had the fortune of speaking to countless parents, teachers, children, and education experts across the country from whom she heard their most personal stories.
Many a time, children take after their parents but in her case, she drew her inspiration from her six-year-old daughter, Anaahat who started to write poems on her own one day. Some of those were complete, while others needed a little refinement. As they worked together to refine some of her first poems, she enjoyed the process so much that she started writing poems herself.
This is the second book Anaahat and Reshma have created together. The first one called Ruhi finds her Princess: Follow Her Search is a children’s picture book, written by her and illustrated by Anaahat.
Anaahat Paritosh
What Anaahat likes about poems is how they make her feel - if what is written in the poem is familiar or due to the feelings the poems create. She likes witty cheeky poems that make her laugh and the way words from the English language sound so different when used in poetry.
While writing a poem, she builds a relationship with the poem which helps her thoughts flow and imagines everyday moments differently. The swimming pool becomes a large cup of water, the flowers floating in it seem like paper boats and ants seem like tiny people in a giant world. She enjoys playing with words while writing poetry - like cozy nook can become nosey crook if the syllables are interchanged
She has won two trophies for her creative writing at the national level - the RobinAge Bright Sparks Award in 2021 and 2022
