Born in 1946, Prof. A. K. Khare acquired B.E.(Hons.) in 1966, M.Tech. in 1973, Ph.D. 1985 in Mechanical Engineering from GEC Jabalpur and IIT Kanpur.
He has served as:

· Chairman Central Admission Board of U.P. State Engineering Admission Test Cell & Conducted Common Entrance Examination in the State of U.P. for 10 years.
· Chief Project Coordinator for UP state in “World Bank Program” TEQIP of Govt. of India.
· Conducted FIRST On-Line entrance examination in the Country ENAT as Controller of Examinations in 2007 & 2008.
· Chairman/ Member of over 30 committees of Govt. of India/ UGC/ UP State Govt on issues like Planning, Coordination, Policy formulation and Development activities in Technical Education, Accreditation, Curriculum Development, Faculty Development, Entrance Examination & Counseling,
· Advisor, Technical Education Dept., Govt. of U.P for 2 years
· Chief Advisor Sharda Group of Institutions, Sharda University Gr Noida for 3 years
· Guided 25 candidates in M Tech/ Ph D thesis; Published over 100 research papers
· Career of over 57 years in planning, development, admissions, counseling, quality assurance, regulation & facilitation in technical education.
Current interests include Design & Conduction of FDPs, Conducting programs on NEP 2020 for Schools & University faculty.
Presently associated with Quantum University, Roorkee (Uttarakhand) as [Hon.] Advisor.
