The Industrial Relations Code, 2020 consolidates three earlier statutes governing industrial relations, namely the Trade Unions Act, 1926, the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946, and the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. However, the Code is not merely a consolidation exercise; it also introduces significant reforms to the existing legal framework. There is a dearth of books available on this newly notified Code.
