Subhamoy Mazumdar was born in Berhampore, had his schooling from Mary Immaculate School and Krishnath Collegiate School. He has completed his Honours degree in English literature under University Of Calcutta and did his post-graduation in Advertising Management from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kolkata.
His first book on poetry 'The Empty Bowl' was published in 2012. It was warmly accepted by readers in India and abroad.
The second edition was launched in Edmonton ,Canada in 2018 .The proceeds from the sale of the book went for funding an UNICEF project to help the victims of Rohingya Crisis.
Subhamoy has been awarded the third prize, bronze award medallion in the International Open Poetry Competition held in October 2006 from the International Library Of Poetry and,Poetry.com, U.S.A ,for the poem 'Hunger' which has been published in an anthology in the United States . Winner of the 'Editor's Choice Award'. Subhamoy had been invited to join the 21st Annual International Society of Poet's Convention and Symposium held in Las Vegas, United States.
At present Subhamoy actively writes poems and articles in the social media simultaneously in Bengali and English.
Apart from writing, Subhamoy loves to paint and play songs of Tagore on the piano. He loves to read and travel .He has travelled almost through entire Europe, and the Far East and has written a lot of popular articles on the countries he has visited.
He has been into research on Zen thoughts and practice for almost two decades now much of which is reflected on his poetry, painting and music.
