Dr. Gandra Laxmana Rao is a distinguished Telugu poet, scholar, and orator from Karimnagar, Telangana. He served for over four decades as a Telugu lecturer, shaping generations of students while remaining deeply engaged with literary and cultural life. His writing draws on classical Telugu traditions while responding thoughtfully to contemporary social realities.

His works include the free-verse collection Muggu and the philosophical poetry collection Satadru. Through Verrimanavudu, his Telugu rendering of Khalil Gibran, he explored the creative possibilities of translation.
