I am my worst written piece
Guilty of hiding the truth and
Safeguarding it in my crescent lips!
-Ananya Sharma
SOBER is not a book about abstinence.
It is about what remains when the intoxication has a name.
These poems move through love that bruises, bodies that remember too much, and the quiet damage of surviving what was never meant to be survived. Pain becomes ritual. Endurance becomes intoxication. And clarity arrives only after everything familiar collapses.
Sober does not offer recovery.
It offers recognition.
For anyone who mistook restraint for healing.
For anyone who stayed clear-headed while drowning.
For anyone who wonders
Was I ever really sober?
