Imran Kashmiri

Imran Yousuf Dar, also known as Imran Kashmiri, is a talented writer and author hailing from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Currently a student at Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi, Imran has made significant contributions to the literary world. With a portfolio of 19 books, including “Martyr Qassim Soleimani,” “Third Sunday of June,” “My Genius Father,” “Partition of Kashmir,” “Story of a Dancer,” “First Female Football Coach of Jammu and Kashmir,” “Martyr Hamid Rahmanian,” “Story Behind the Last Seen,” “Tricky Shot Guy of Kashmir,” “The Girl with Dreams,” and “Aching Hearts Healing Souls,” Imran has showcased his versatility by writing biographies, love stories, Islamic stories, and historical narratives.

Imran’s journey as a writer has been shaped by his early aversion to reading. However, in his teenage years, he discovered a passion for reading and writing, thanks to the encouragement and guidance of his high school English and Physics teachers. Imran’s love for literature grew as he began selecting books of personal interest, rather than being assigned mandatory readings. This freedom allowed him to fully engage with the content and sparked vibrant discussions with others.

Writing has become a form of self-expression and liberation for Imran. It provides him with a safe space to articulate his thoughts and emotions. However, writing is not without its challenges. Imran invests significant time and effort into maintaining focus, and when faced with writer’s block or external disturbances, he can become anxious and stressed. Nevertheless, Imran recognizes the crucial connection between reading and writing, as reading exposes him to different writing styles and enhances his own craft.

Imran thrives on writing in various contexts, which constantly challenges him to become a better writer. Even in casual text conversations, he prefers composing complete sentences. Imran believes that his extensive writing practice will prepare him for his future endeavors as a Psychology major, acknowledging that writing will play a fundamental role in his chosen field. He finds a deep connection between his brain and thought process when writing with a pencil on paper, often preferring this tactile approach over typing on a computer. Imran’s commitment to nurturing his writing practice stems from the belief that it allows him to express himself and build confidence in his ability to produce quality work.
