Dr. Nordan Otzer was born in Hunder, Nubra in 1982. After earning his bachelor’s degree from Christian Medical College, Vellore, he completed his Post Graduation in Otorhinolaryngology from Presidency General Hospital, Kolkata. He mainly focuses on women’s health issues under the Himalayan Women Health project. He also headed an environment-related NGO called Ladakh Ecological Development Group (LEDeG). His work on women’s health has taken him to different parts of Ladakh and provided him with an opportunity to interact with people from different backgrounds. He was conferred with State Award on Republic Day 2023 by UT Ladakh for his contribution toward Social reform, Empowerment and Environment protection.
