Those Forgotten People

Author Name: ANIRUDDHA ROY CHOUDHURY | Format: Paperback | Genre : Literature & Fiction | Other Details

Year 2013! He was educated and was a believer in everything that had a scientifically proven explanation. Sudhir, after constant failures on his part which led to an unwanted divorce, was thrust by a  strange twist of faith on an isolated island. He gained unfathomable power, which had no scientific explanation.

He was not a politician, and yet, he was forced to pit his mind against a globally powerful nation, and that nation was guided by a man whose magical powers far exceeded that of his own.

His school curriculum never taught him to fight with a sword, nor travel time.

Yet, here he was, travelling back in time to unravel a mystery that harassed a royal family.

Here he was again, somehow managing to ward off ruthless, bloodthirsty, sword-wielding pirates with his own clumsily held sword!

To protect himself from dying? Obviously, yes!

But, also to protect the fabulous wealth of gold, silver, rubies, diamonds and so much more that were lost in the seven ships around the year 1782.

ANIRUDDHA ROY CHOUDHURY

When the author was a child, he used to daydream, and to that little child, the real world would often merge with the pixies beckoning from behind the clouds, the secret passage in his almirah that led into the netherworld. The Willow and Gulmohar branches ushered him from outside his window to play, the wind actually whispering good tidings into his ears, and so much more.

The author is the son of a very respected Indian Defense officer, who is no more, and there was once when his parents had a challenging time explaining his 'real world' to his worried school teachers.

Now, after all these many years, it is diplomatic to say, "He had a vivid imagination!"

What profession does a man with, a well, ‘a vivid imagination’, take up? You are absolutely correct! So, he too, became a salesman, and his ‘vivid imagination’ was so good that, over thirteen years, he rose up to become a regional manager before he branched off to start his own business, a recruitment consultancy, which has done fairly well over the past twenty-two years.

While travelling back home one day, he began to pen down a recruitment candidate's behaviour traits. At one point he fancied adding an unpredictable twist to that behaviour and just then, a short story was born, then some of them matured to become novels!
