An economist by profession, Subhobrota Ray has over two decades of experience in handling multiple national level and global assignments. She has worked with premier industry organisations and economic research institutes. She has also been the recipient of a prestigious Presidential Award (First Prize) for a paper on South Asia, among participants from SAARC countries. Originally from Kolkata, an alumnus of Presidency College and Calcutta University, the writer has lived for a long time in Delhi and Gurgaon and is now based in Mumbai. An avid music lover, she is trained in Rabindra Sangeet and Hindustani classical music and also has a Rabindra Sangeet music album to her credit.
