Wings to Fly Nurturing Dreams to Come True

Author Name: Deepak Sharma | Format: Paperback | Genre : Biographies & Autobiographies | Other Details

Wings to Fly beautifully illustrates that instead of constantly climbing the ladders of success, sometimes we need to descend into the valley of truth and reality. Especially for those facing the acute heat of poverty, insecurity, suffering, disabilities and inabilities.

There is always an opportunity around us to sow the right seeds for the less beneficial people and weed out the superficial, false and futile possessions. All the compromises and sacrifices can be easily forgotten; like a mother, who bears all the pain while giving birth and raising her children.

Deepak found the true meaning and purpose of his life while serving the underprivileged children at Udayan Care. He devoted his heart, mind, soul, wealth and body to them as a full-time volunteer and a guardian. The book convinces one that each child is a lotus waiting to blossom. They just need someone’s support, guidance, care, handholding, and above all, quality time.

The book intends to inspire one to make significant contributions to society, nature and the universe in multiple ways. Anyone can extend a hand of hope, become eyes for the blind, a voice for the mute, clutches for the crippled, destiny for the destitute and a lamp (Deepak) of light and hope for someone else.

True exuberance and contentment are found when we rise above ourselves and learn to live for others.

Deepak Sharma

Deepak Sharma was born in a well-educated middle-class family in 1960 in Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh. He attained a high point in the corporate world and yet decided to give up his corporate career at the age of 53 and become a caregiver to guide and support children in need of care and protection.

Before switching to social service, he worked with NTPC, ABB, ALSTOM, BSES and the Tata Group. Much before reaching the age of superannuation, he realized that all the fantasies of the corporate world, materialistic possession and the rat race were futile and temporary. He bid adieu to the corporate job and decided to embrace something beyond himself, and truly work towards the real purpose of life—living for others.

Right from childhood, he was immersed in strong values, imparted to him, especially by his parents. Deepak’s father has always been his role model; constantly navigating life with the values inherited and imbibed from him.  Whatever he does now, his services and responsibilities towards society are dedicated to his father and guided by his values.

Deepak lives with his mother, wife Dr Sunita and many loving children at Udayan Care in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. His only biological child, Gaurav, and his wife are currently working in London.

He is a simple, sporty, straightforward, passionate and easy-going person. He exhibits the qualities of a dedicated leader and a true mentor. He lives by the phrase ‘Learn, Earn and Return’.
