In Vedic Astrology The term "Graha" is used for the planets/celestial bodies. “Graha” means to grasp or control, indicating their perceived ability to influence worldly matters. Grahas include planets like Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn the Moon, Sun and the lunar nodes (Rahu/Ketu). The Grahas are collectively called Navgrahas as they are nine in number.
Each planet possesses distinct inherent traits that persist irrespective of its placement in a particular house or under a specific zodiac sign. Naturally, each planet's actions exhibit variability as they intertwine and are impacted by the corresponding sign and house. The interactions with other planets, known as aspects, serve as modifying influences. Nevertheless, the fundamental characteristics of each planet remain potent enough to manifest in every astrological chart, regardless of these influences.
