This is a book about doing data science with Python, which immediately begs the question: what is data science? It's a surprisingly hard definition to nail down, especially given how ubiquitous the term has become. Vocal critics have variously dismissed the term as a superfluous label (after all, what science doesn't involve data?) or a simple buzzword that only exists to salt resumes and catch the eye of overzealous tech recruiters.
The book is not meant to be an introduction to Python or to programming in general; I assume the reader has familiarity with the Python language, including defining functions, assigning variables, calling methods of objects, controlling the flow of a program, and other basic tasks. Instead it is meant to help Python users learn to use Python's data science stack–libraries such as IPython, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-Learn, and related tools–to effectively store, manipulate, and gain insight from data.

Dr. R. Mythili, is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology, SRM IST, Ramapuram. She has totally 19 years of Teaching & Industry experience in Computer Science domain. She has received her Ph.D with specialization in Computer Science and Engineering at SRM IST, Kattankulathur, India on 2020. She has received her B.E (Computer Science) from Bharathidasan University with University X rank on 1999 and M.E (VLSI Design) from College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University on 2007. Dr. Latha M, completed her Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore (Affiliated to Anna University, Chennai) in 2009. She had completed her Master of Engineering (Rank Holder) in Software Engineering from Ann University, Coimbatore in 2011 and Ph.D. Computer Science and Engineering from Vels institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies, Chennai in 2020. Currently she is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology (School of Computing), SRMIST, Ramapuram. She has over 11 years of full time and 2 years of part time teaching experience in reputed engineering colleges in Coimbatore and Chennai. She has published 16 and communicated 4 technical papers in reputed International Journals indexed in Scopus, Springer, WOS and ESCI and have published 3 patents.
Mr.B.Arunmozhi M.E., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at St.Joseph College of Engineering, Sriperumbudur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He has completed his M.E, CSE under Anna University Affiliation College in the year 2011. He has done his B.E, CSE under Anna University Affiliation College in the year 2007. Mr.B.Arunmozhi has 11 years of teaching experience and has 12 publications in International Journals and Conferences. His area of interests includes Network Security, Computer Networks, Data Science and Machine Learning. He is an active member of CSI and IEANG. He has organized various International Conferences, workshops and Seminars in the area of Computer Networks, Cloud Computing & Machine Learning respectively.
