Poetry they say is thoughts that breathe, however, poetry is also thoughts that sing, sparkle and dance. Reading of insightful poetry leads to deep reflection which ultimately leads to change. These simple yet thought provoking poems are aimed at encouraging children to read, reflect and examine life around them. The poems in the book are designed at being educative in a non-didactic manner. At times they are very real and at others, they deal with abstract notions in an unassuming childlike manner.
A post graduate in Education from the University of Delaware, USA, Aditi has taught English Language and Literature to high school students for more than a decade. In 2016, she won the NDTV National award for teaching English.
Aditi is a columnist for the newspaper Deccan Herald and regularly writes for the columns ‘Oasis’ and ‘Right in the middle’. Her award winning short story ‘Written in Sand’ was also published in Deccan Herald. Writing is both her passion and sanctuary. She believe reading and writing poetry not only makes children and adults more empathetic but also fosters a love for language, perspective and thought.
