By profession Tara Gopinath is an Architects and had a Consultancy Firm. During 25 years of private practice, she designed Hotels, Hospitals, Resorts and Apartments. After retirement she travelled widely - in India as well as abroad - and her travelogues of those visits and short stories have been published in leading Marathi magazines and won accolades. She has to her credit a Marathi book of short stories.
An active member of International Inner Wheel – an NGO, and she led the Inner Wheel District 319, as District Chairman for one year. She is also an active member of Maharashtra Mandal and Stree Sakhi.
She is a keen observer of life around her and captures these nuances in her stories.
