The book " Python Prowess" has been prepared to meet the requirement of people who are willing to learn basic programming skills using python. The python programming has been covered fully describing the subject matter in a simple language. A large number of programs have been added wherever required. This book divided into six chapters:
Chapter 1: Introduction
Chapter 2: Conditional and Control Statements
Chapter 3: Lists,Tuples and Dictionaries
Chapter 4: Strings and Functions
Chapter 5: File Handling
Chapter 6: Practice Programs
Each chapter contains a number of example programs to explain the techniques to solve a problem. All efforts have been made to keep errors to barest minimum. However, there is a possibility that some errors might have crept in inadvertently. We, would, therefore be grateful is such oversights are pointed out by the readers. Suggestions for improvement of the text from readers are welcome.

Dr. G. Parthasarathy is working as Assistant Professor at Vellore Institute of Technology. Received his B.E degree from University of Madras and M.E from Anna university. He further completed doctoral research in Computer Science and Engineering, specializing in Recommender Systems. His area of interest includes Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Big data Technologies.
Dr. G. N. Balaji is an Associate Professor from the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore. He completed his graduation from Annamalai University and pursued his post-graduation in M.Tech from SRM University. He further excelled in his field by completing his doctoral research in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Annamalai University, specializing in Medical Image Analysis. His contributions to the field of research are commendable, with his papers being published in 40 international journals and conferences, including prestigious publishers like Springer, Elsevier, and Taylor & Francis.
Dr.K.Kalaivani is working as Assistant Professor Sr. Grade 1 in the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology,Vellore,Tamilnadu,India. She received her Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai in 2022, M.E degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University,Trichy,Tamilnadu,India and B.E degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Bharathidasan University, Trichy, Tamilnadu, India. Her research interest includes Intrusion Detection, Deep learning, Fog Computing, Machine Learning, Internet of Things and Cloud Computing. She has good number of publication in SCI/SCIE indexed Journals and conferences.
Dr. N.Kopperundevi is currently working as Assistant Professor at Vellore Institute of Technology Vellore. She completed her research the year 2019 under Anna University Chennai, in the specialisation of Information Communication Engineering. She has published more than 10 papers and three patents. Acting as a reviewer in Textile Research Journal and Soft Computing has reviewed nearly 10 papers. Her area of interest includes Image Processing, Neural Networks, Fuzzy Systems Machine Learning and Deep Learning and have guided more than 15 UG and PG projects.
