The subject of Airport planning & design is quite stimulating and relatively exhaustive, unfortunately not much of the literature or text books are available which can provide enough guidance to provide comprehensive knowledge about the subject. Even in most of the engineering colleges, this subject is not very popular & only superficial information is provided as an optional subject at graduation level.
This book has been written to emphasis imparting knowledge on aerodrome runway system which plays a major role in Master Planning of the aerodrome.

This part of the airport consists of civil-infrastructure facilities needed for safe landing, take-off, surface movement & parking of aircraft.
