The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) is the first discourse in the Gospel according to Matthew and sets Jesus' agenda in that Gospel. Resources on the Sermon on the Mount, however, are either too scholarly, with little practical implications, or watered down feel-good devotions that pay little attention to the contexts within which Jesus operated or the specific language that Matthew uses. In this series of devotions, Deepak strikes a balance between an academic and a practical approach to the Sermon on the Mount, taking into account a lot of the current scholarship on the Gospel according to Matthew, while attempting to address Christians who simply want to understand how what Jesus spoke two thousand years could apply to their lives today.
