It highlights the significance of giving importance to one’s feelings regarding oneself. Growing up, She glimpsed her younger cousin’s day in and out battle with their insecurities at the tender age of 10; a mere age gap of two years didn’t give Akhila enough experience to guide and aid her cousin’s journey throughout. The lines “Are you insecure or did someone make you insecure?” resonate through Akhila’s ears and have allowed her to help her cousin survive BDD. Moreover, the interplay of Science and Literature has always intrigued Akhila from within and provided her an opportunity to advocate for millions just like her cousin!
