From the moment we are born, we are curious to learn, and the way we learn shapes our lives. It builds our student, professional and personal lives, and in the process of doing so shapes our personalities. For years, the conventional way of learning has been simple; go to someone who can teach. So, we rely on parents, teachers and field experts to gather the knowledge required to learn. Although the above said resources are important to learn, the inherent flaw in this process is lack of rigorous learning methodology for a learner.
In The Science of Learning, the author describes in simple terms the steps a learner can take to understand the learning methodology universal to learning anything. Characteristics of a learner and the process of acquiring knowledge are central to this book. It empowers the “learner” to take control of the learning process and use the available resources wisely. It simply does so by making the reader realize the greatness that can be achieved by the power of knowledge, and the characteristics one should possess or develop to receive the knowledge. In doing so, it makes us conscious about the steps or actions we take which are detrimental to the learning process.
A must-read handbook for students.
