Sridev Mohan
I, Sridev Mohan, have a twelve year experience in teaching. My degree, post-graduation and qualifying NTA NET in English literature have helped in defining and refining what writing is for me. It is not just a creative outburst but a meticulous search for vibrancy within the stories, a journey into the hearts and souls of the characters, a place for debate with each setting. This is my debut work in the literary category called novel. My other works include a short story collection, a poetry collection and three spec screenplays (two in Manglish and one in Malayalam). Having taught poems, novels and dramas to students over the years has assisted in my creativity as much, as those hours in the classes were when my students and I would try to figure out what those lines in those books were saying. That slow unravelling of themes, meanings and interpretations have been a major driving force in my on-going journey with literary writings. Apart from literary pursuits, I have made seventeen short films. I quit teaching in 2023, wanting to do something on my own. Writing and having people read my books is one among the endeavours that I am keen on pursuing.
