In the preceding book `The Stranger On The Bus’, a young boy named Kai happens to meet an orphan who had miraculously survived a landslide that kills his parents. His nightmares of the disaster never ceased, and he was tormented above all by his longing for his parents. At the end of the journey, the boys part ways without exchanging names or even saying goodbye; in the hope that their paths would cross again. Many years later they find that their hopes were not in vain when a reunion occurs in the book "Where The Paths Lead." Kai is pursuing his dream to become a farmer like his father. Much joy results from a long-awaited reunion, but neither of the friends could have predicted what would happen that morning—an incident that would change their lives forever. Eighteen hours was all it took to go from being the happiest man alive to having his world fall apart. Meanwhile his friend is shocked when his plan of leaving that evening is a ghost from the past. Will Kai survive, or will he once again have to deal with the loss of a loved one?
