FILL ME UP WITH SNAIL'S BLOOD

Cold weather started in September itself, in that Year 2130…!

In the last 100 years, the world has fully commutated with regard to lifestyle of people and astounding scientific discoveries…!

Pleasant jingle bell sounds are heard from ‘Se Cathedral’ church in Velha, Goa, India. ‘Nico’ a vibrant cheery natured teen is in his deep morning sleep. He gets disturbed by the musical light flashes from his ‘Sparrow type Robot’ and he readily wakes up…

To everybody’s surprise, TIME TRAVEL has been discovered 5 years before itself, by a team comprising of multinational members in ‘Central Research Laboratory’, Goa but with a small defalcation…!!! Only ‘Time Travel to the future’ is unveiled and NOT the vice versa...!

Goa becomes a Research Hub, thereafter!

Many objects seem to be beetling in space from the aerial view!!! Levitating houses become common for very affluent people, due to the successful Tesla-397 Project in the year 2100, with which houses can be built & kept in space without support…!

(Science research labs become more common in every street, like today’s mobile phone repair shops and a scientist there is recognized as a middle class man.)

Nico puts his transparent mobile phone inside his shirt pocket like a pen, by rolling it! He gets ready to visit his mother’s office as usual…

‘Dr.Belson’ a scientist, could only afford to rent such a space house recently, though he is in a good job! Hearing the sound of somebody’s smacking, he rushes to the front of the house and scolds the guy outside,

“How many times I warn you, to drive steadily in space…?

That food delivery guy just shows a smile and flies away in his ‘space bike’…!

Invention of such flying vehicles (‘Dapper Plus’) consuming only Nitrogen as fuel is an additional leap, which makes even the normal folks in the streets always roaming around in the space, for all their works… (Even for no-works.)

Everybody are rejoicing and just anticipating their Government’s official release of licensed Time Travel. There is jubilation & happiness everywhere.

As an exception, the only man who has to linger to his office for 24/7 duty is ‘Dr.Belson’. Two years before, he was assigned the main role of Research & Development for ‘Time Travel to the Past’ (TTP), by the National Government Council…!

He is always dynamic in the Main Laboratory, working on all possible means to unearth TTP, invariably surrounded by many technical assistants. But each and every trial is a failure and the number of times he got memo will be more, when compared to the awards he received!

He faces many insults…

“Your time machine just looks like my great grandfather’s Solidaire TV…! Ha ha ha…” once an old reporter made fun on his work during a press meet.

The teen boy Nico comes outside his house. With a smiling face, he sits on his friend’s Space Bike Dapper Plus and in a fraction of a second, the bike flies into the space hastily!

In a minute, Nico enters Dr.Belson’s lab! Nico’s mother ‘Sarah’ is a senior technician working in Dr.Belson’s Lab for the last 8 years. She can be often seen scolding her son during his frequent uninvited lab visits…,

Sarah “Nico, how come you call on the lab, during your school hours?”

“Sir is in the propeller section…Leave now!”

Nico “Mom, I need Dapper plus…! Book it today please!”

Sarah “No! Only after your Grade-XII results…! Ok?”

Nico “…….!!!”

(Nico’s incessant visits had many times irritated Dr.Belson.)

Nico is often seen playing in the corner of his Mom’s work place, bisecting insects like snail, cockroaches etc., especially different species of snails… Technicians are friendly with him as he is their colleague’s son.

Sarah “It is ok, that you are bisecting the snail…! But, why are you storing its blood?”

Nico “This unique colored blood attracts me, Mom!”

Sarah “Do something useful for your future…!”

Nico “Sure Mom!”

Dr.Belson is notorious for his hard working attributes, but also self-centered in nature! Often he displays it, by way of scolding his subordinates…

The time-travel machine under progress looks astonishingly a small accouterment, like a children’s school bench, requiring a special form of ‘Opium plant based bio-fuel with diamond nano particles’ as fuel. It also has Rotor blades, which can attain the ‘Speed of Light’ during its working!

The Government always focuses on time travel projects, with a main aim of going back to a period well before 2079 and stop the spread of a deadly virus which has reduced the world population…!!!

In all the time travel trials, Dr.Belson also sits in the ‘TTP Apparatus’ along with samples for safety. But success could not be tasted for a possible travel to past…!!!

November month arrives…

Dr.Belson is very aware that the Government’s National Council members visit Research Laboratories for Review and Awarding in December. So he conducts frequent department meetings to plan and prioritize works.

Belson “Guys! We are in November…! Hope you all know what is expected…?”

“Yes! Over time work.” (Belson himself answers it.)

“Propeller section is of foremost importance! Try new grade of fuels!”

“Come on cheer up…!” (Belson continues…)

All technicians give unanimous reply, “Yes sir! We will!”

Belson “Thank you guys…!”

(Some technicians whisper among themselves “We can only write ‘Minutes of meeting’! Machine is not going to work…! Ha ha ha”)

Days go by…

On 23rd Nov, 2130, 10.30 am, Belson is fully occupied in the Main Protocol Testing section, where he is involved in the correction work of ‘Speed of Light Unit’.

All of a sudden, he happens to see Nico playing with Snails in the corner of the Lab!

He gets angry and calls Sarah, in a flash…,

“Idiot…! If TTP result is lost due to your son, you will be fired…! Take him out of my sight…!” (He also throws Sarah’s handbag!)

Sarah starts crying on the spot in front of all people there…!

Even during his mother’s grief-stricken moment, Nico still continues his hobby of bisecting the Snails… (As he is unable to hear any sound due to the cabin’s acoustic shielding.)

In a minute or two…, Nico returns to his mom after noting down dead silence in the room…

(Sarah wipes out her tears quickly, before Nico sees her.)

Nico “Hi Mom, what’s up…! Are we leaving now…?”

“Buy me the Tascalate Chocolate drink now itself…! Come on Mom…!”

(Innocently, Nico continues asking questions, not fully realizing the situation there!)

Sarah quickly packs her things and leaves the lab with her son expeditiously…!

Sarah feels wounded very much. She takes leave for two more days, stating a reason of ill health. She could not sleep.

She comes to the lab afterwards.

Without showing any difference, she continues her works…

One month goes by… It is December! (The Review month.)

Dr.Belson still cannot succeed in his project works, but manages to incorporate a presentation on ‘Possible Fuel Suggestions’ to manage facing the committee’s visit in that month! He is not at all happy and continues his rough behavior with his fellow employees…

The expected Academy day comes on 23rd Dec 2130! (Two days before Christmas.)

All the Committee members of the Council including the President are sitting in their main chairs…

Dr.Belson kickoffs his presentation…

He welcomes all people and starts explaining the various fuel compositions! One by one, he demonstrates the differently shaded glass bottles, having various fuel categories…,

Belson “Dear dignitaries! All these bottles with red shades are the ones for further research!”

“This virtual screen shows how much diamond nano particles are needed in each fuel!”

(All the committee members are listening seriously and the presentation is going on well.)

To the surprise of everybody there, the President notices something Strange…

And he immediately points out his fingers onto a new Bottle, containing BLUE colored liquid in it…!

“CAN YOU EXPLAIN US, WHY THIS ONE IS HAVING BLUE COLOR?”

Belson “…!!!” (Belson has no answer…)

“Sir! Mmm…! I mean…! Blue color is not in the list! Sorry…!”

(He does not know even, how that bottle came there…)

He remains standstill…!!!

A minute goes by…

The president becomes angry…! All the committee members simply stare at Belson…

(Pin drop silence prevails there, for few seconds…)

Without having a single answer…, Belson just turns to his left side and sees his technicians, and also Sarah…!

NO REACTION FROM ANYONE!

A SUDDEN SOUND…

“Hiiii……..!”

To everybody’s surprise, the youngster Nico enters the hall in a blissful mood!!!

Belson cannot believe his eyes! Even in that tense situation, Belson thinks how come Nico could overcome such a tight security outside…

Without bothering about anybody there, Nico readily runs near his Mom “Mom…! I have cleared Grade-XII”

(Sarah does not know what to tell in that delicate situation…)

President intervenes, “Who is this…?”

Belson voluntarily replies “Sir! Apologies…! This is Technician Sarah’s son…!”

“I will ask them to leave immediately…!” (Belson turns to Sarah with an angry face.)

President “No…! no…! no…! Let that boy come here…!”

Nico goes near the president.

President “Hi boy! Do you need anything…?”

Nico “UNCLE, I WANT TO TAKE BACK MY BOTTLE WITH BLUE BLOOD…!”

President “Blood…!”

Nico “Yaa…! It is my snail’s blood…!”

All the committee members start laughing and enjoy Nico’s innocent speech…

President readily understands that Nico has mistakenly left his bottle there.

He tells him “Ok! Take it…! No problem!”

Nico happily runs towards the bottles section…!

All the committee members are still sitting with smiling faces and enjoy every action of Nico there… Nico becomes the main presenter and entertainer now!

(Few of the committee members keep a serious look at Belson…)

Belson feels like his heart has almost stopped pumping blood!!!

While taking his bottle, Nico accidentally loses grip and it breaks on the spot by hitting the time machine! The BLUE COLORED SNAIL BLOOD enters the main propeller unit of the time travel apparatus…

To everybody’s surprise, THE TIME TRAVEL MACHINE STARTS RUNNING with its blades attaining the speed of light in its due course!!!

The broken pieces of Nico’s glass bottle disappear from their sight…!

All the committee members standup from their chairs and look at the time machine with astonishment!!!

There is PIN DROP SILENCE for a second…

Sarah realizes something and runs near the president,

Sarah “Sir! Those bottle pieces have gone to the fixed input of 5 hours of its past time period…!”

President “Wow…wow…! But, how can you prove…?”

Sarah “I was only cleaning the apparatus 5 hours before. See my hands. The bottle pieces have injured my hands…!”

(Sarah shows her hands even in that pain.)

The president becomes happy and immediately orders the lab people to find the details of that snail blood.

With plethora of questions, ALL THE TECHNICIANS UNANIMOUSLY TURN TOWARDS NICO…

Understanding the success, Nico shows a gracious look at them.

(A paper falls down from his shirt pocket containing a list of snail species names, with details of their blood nature.)

The boy Nico’s Snail blood succeeds ‘Time Travel to the Past” testing and Sarah smiles for the first time, showing a prestigious look at Belson…!

(All the committee members including the president occupy an elliptical table and starts signing some forms.)

The immediate next day,

The Governments National Council names that time travel project as “NICO’S TTP PHASE-I” and sanctions the teenager with the World’s most prestigious Discovery Award for the year 2130…!!! (Along with Dr.Belson.)

The poor boy smiles at his mother “MOM, MY SNAIL’S BLOOD HAS FINALLY FOUND ITS USAGE, AS I TOLD YOU BEFORE…!”

Sarah smiles at him, with tears coming from her eyes, over and over…

She goes outside the main door, reaches the portico, SEES THE HEAVENS out of all the modern flying vehicles and hanging houses in that very developed world. Her eyes thank GOD…!!!

All the committee members remain in the presentation room watching the time machine. To everybody’s ears, the time machine’s noise seems to be heard like, “FILL ME UP WITH SNAIL’S BLOOD”…!!!
