Life is a journey that everyone makes
With ups and downs and some mistakes
A journey that is without any brakes
Except when toll time comes to take
Some drive their car some leave it to fate
No one here waits they seperate
But the upper and the third rate
Wake up together near exit gate

Musafir's poetry is essentially didactic, the treatment being philosophical in nature. He prefers the rhyming scheme for the opportunities it provides by limiting the scope of expression, thereby providing a challenge to the poet to hone his craft and provide for meaningful poetry within the limits set by verse. There is a certain randomness to the chain of poems which have been printed in the order of the date of composition, as Musafir's anthologies are essentially a collection of the poet's thought on a variety of different colours that is life.
His poetry reflects the liberalism he imbibed in reaction to, during the heyday of aggressive socialism which claimed for themselves the culmination of the intellectual efforts of the entire humanity. The sheer arrogance of the left, left a bad aftertaste and a suspicion that clothed in bombastic subterfuge there hid within a false philosophy which was a compromise between desire and honest academics. His poetry thus reflects the uncertainties of human existence and the beauty and grace that it engenders.

The horrendous assault on civilization itself generated a fear psychosis so intense that it seemingly wiped out the human race from the streets into the safe seclusion of their homes. MUSAFIR NAMA IX capturs the spirit of these extremely trying times and the issues that were raised. friends who were lost received due homage from a friend to honour that friendship. alongwith the digressions that are inevitable whenever Musafir picks up hispen. Happy reading.

Where are you Musafir these days
Everyone misses you
A jug of wine has come my way
A drink with you is due
We shall drink to the good old days
To youthful innocence
To sincere and some wayward ways
And to our irreverence
There was no sorrow nor was pain
Only a bag of hopes
Hurdles were crossed with sweat and strain
And victory at the ropes
Where are you Musafir these days
Everyone misses you
A jug of wine has come my way
A drink with you is due
We shall drink to the good old days
To youthful innocence
To sincere and some wayward ways
And to our irreverence
There was no sorrow nor was pain
Only a bag of hopes
Hurdles were crossed with sweat and strain
And victory at the ropes
We all were young and had no clue
What would happen in life
The skies were clear and heavens blue
That was enough for life
Each day was consumed with pleasure
One day each at a time
There was no rush, time was treasure
Each hour was given time
To have fun needed no reason
For that there was no plan
There was no restricted season
Friends made a happy clan
There were no fears or faith in stars
Work was not discomfort
We tried again failure didn’t scar
Victory came with effort
Through stormy seas we captained fate
As masters of our soul
We are steering our own fate
Musafir where’s your goal
