A Sacred Beginning

On Eid al-Fitr, while the Ummah celebrated, a child was born in Mumbai whose first cries echoed not confusion, but “Allah! Allah! Allah!” Witnesses recall it as a sacred sign. His great-grandfather and maternal grandfather gave the Adhān in his ears, fulfilling the Sunnah (Sunan Abi Dawud 5105).

He was named Zaid, inspired by Zayd ibn Harithah (RA), the beloved companion of the Prophet ﷺ, whose loyalty and humility made him the only companion mentioned by name in the Qur’an (33:37). This name became a trust — to live with faith, loyalty, and service.

The Qur’an reminds us of the Primordial Covenant (7:172), where every soul testified: “Alastu bi Rabbikum?” – “Am I not your Lord?” Perhaps his first cries were echoes of that divine pledge.

Family & Legacy

Zayd was born into the Haji family, known for integrity and service:

Great-grandfather: Ismail Abbas Haji (d. 1999), remembered for honesty in trade.

Grandfather: Ahmed Ismail Haji (1934–2025), a paragon of Qur’anic humility.

Father: Iqbal Ahmed Haji (1965–2020), who served 35 years at Sharjah Airport before passing after a long illness.

Maternal grandparents: Khayyamudin Mimli (d. 2023) and Suraiya Mimli (d. 2020), who embodied resilience and compassion.

Their sacrifices shaped Zayd’s mission to revive ethics in wealth and life.

Struggle & Awakening

The turning point came with his father’s passing in 2020. Emotionally and financially broken, Zayd stood at a crossroads. Instead of surrendering, he chose struggle, guided by his mother, Almas Iqbal Haji, and inspired by the du’as of his ancestors.

He committed himself to Islamic finance not as a career but as a calling.
