The Good Death Project is a deeply reflective exploration of death, dying, and the experiences of healthcare professionals who witness it daily, particularly in ICU settings. The book stems from real-life encounters, emotional tolls, and the author's personal journey toward understanding what constitutes a "good death."

The book stems from real-life encounters, emotional tolls, and the author's personal journey toward understanding what constitutes a "good death."
The book is structured into thematic parts: it begins with philosophical and emotional considerations of death, moves through the challenges of end-of-life communication, and culminates in powerful real ICU stories. Drawing on over 30 interviews with healthcare workers and loved ones, the author highlights the universal discomfort around death and advocates for open, honest conversations to reduce fear and confusion at life’s end.
Key themes include the emotional burden faced by clinicians, the inadequacies of end-of-life care in acute settings, the myths around DNACPR, and the taboo surrounding physician-assisted dying. The book integrates UK palliative care principles and religious-cultural perspectives to define a “good death” as one marked by dignity, peace, choice, and compassion.
True stories of patients from different walks of life, bring the narrative alive. They underscore the importance of timely communication, cultural sensitivity, and compassionate care. Through these, the book becomes a poignant call to normalise conversations around death, support families better, and redefine what it means to care at the end of life.

Last year, I introduced you to the voices in my head. These are the voices that are integral to my being. These are the voices that keep me going in the toughest of the times, the voices that motivate me, the voices that make me feel alive. Also, these are the voices that scream when I feel hurt, the voices that cry when I feel pained, the voices that sometimes thrash me to the ground and at others elevate me above all agony.

The voices in my head that tried to reach you through some poems last year just got louder than ever before during the pandemic that plundered the entire humanity and shattered the hopes and lives of many, known and unknown to me. And yet, they kept me going. They helped me cope with the immense pressures at work and in personal life.
So, I am here to share again some thoughts, some inspiration, some advice and some truth. Through this book, I have tried to create some positivity in times of annihilation, hope in times of gloom, inspiration for the souls who think they are defeated and the true image of the devastation that we witnessed all of last year during the pandemic whose aftermath, many of us are still suffering.
I am not sure if this will relate to each one of you who reads it but I do hope you can feel the message I want to convey through some simple phrases and words. There is nothing special about this book. You can simply call it a mirror to my soul.

'The Voices In My Head' is much more than a book for me. It is much more than a collection of poems. For me, it is an expression of who I am. It is a mirror to my soul. It is my smiles and tears flowing as the ink of a fountain pen. It is my wilderness, my insanity illustrated. It brings forth the emotions that every one can relate to. It is a painting of my love and passion. It is a sculpture of my successes and failures. It is my beating heart and my sprinti

It is my smiles and tears flowing as the ink of a fountain pen. It is my wilderness, my insanity illustrated. It brings forth the emotions that every one can relate to. It is a painting of my love and passion. It is a sculpture of my successes and failures. It is my beating heart and my sprinting brain. It is all about me, all about you and all about the voices in my head. Read it when you are happy, read it when you are sad, read it to your beloved, read it to yourself, there is one for every state of mind, one for every mood. Enjoy it while sipping tea and listening to the music of the rain. Gift it to someone you really care for. Even if I could touch one life, I will consider my job done. Happy reading!
