This book has made an effort to understand life and death by integrating different domains of science, philosophy, physics, biology and psychology as life can’t be easily explained by one area of science. This book has tried to explain why the life and the universe is the way it is, how did humans came out of existence, where we are now and where we will be. This book introduces a new theory to understand the world and life around us called the “Theory of Stabilism”. We can call it a new theory or new philosophy like the school of existentialism. Charles Darwin claimed that any life’s purpose is to survive and reproduce. Later on, Freud and many psychoanalysts also explained on how the reproduction influences our life and have an important aspect of all life that we live only to survive and reproduce but this is not the complete story. They didn’t say why we reproduce and what purpose it serves in a cosmic scale. In this book, you can find an answer to why we reproduce and the importance of death in reproduction.
Later came Ernest Becker summarised the role of death in humans, how cultures, heroism provided meaning for humans. Becker had written it from psychological perspectives but terror management theory still lacks the complete perspective of all animals and other life forms in their biological nature. I have combined the two ideas and introduced a universal theory of nature called Theory of stabilism.
