If you’re looking to sell your products in branded customize packaging, it’s essential that your packaging fits every item you stock. After all, no one wants to open up their purchase and find that the items they bought don’t fit inside the packaging! When you design a new product, keep your existing packaging in mind. You should know whether it will fit inside your current packaging so you won’t have to redesign everything when you scale up. If it’s not a perfect fit, you might need to change your design—it’s easier and cheaper to make those decisions early on than later.
Look at your current product line and figure out how many sizes of packaging you’ll need. If you carry a large number of products, it might be best to have custom printed mailers so customers can easily find what they’re looking for. If you don’t stock a lot of inventory, regular bags will do just fine.
Many companies try to save money by outsourcing printing. But when you have in-house printing capabilities, you won’t have to pay shipping and handling on an item and can make changes as needed. This flexibility comes at a lower cost than outsourcing packaging—which will increase your profit margin over time.
The only way to tell which product is inside a package is by looking at its label. If you don’t make sure your labels are placed visibly, you risk customers making inaccurate guesses about what’s inside your packages. And if they receive an order with items they didn’t purchase, it could be disastrous for your brand and sales.
If you don’t have enough room on your custom cupcake boxes, or if you are simply tired of customers asking where they can find one of your products, try printing a sticker that identifies your product. Simply apply it to its packaging and attach it to all relevant pages in your catalog. This is an easy way to brand products as yours and drive sales.
