Kathir RS (Sukumar Rajendran) comes from the hamlet Kameswaram in Nagapattinam District, Tamil Nadu, South India. He is an Engineer who turned into an entrepreneur. His interests span across various creative fields such as music, journalism, and filmmaking. 
He started his career in 2001 as a reporter and was the sub-editor of the news portal, www. intamm.com. He later was a freelance writer in a Dinamani-Kathir, a weekly supplement. As a feature writer on the News 7 television channel, he has written about several politicians, movie stars, literary and sports personalities. 
He is a panelist for television news debates and runs a web TV. He has produced a single on Mumbai 26/11 terror attacks and is a musician who has contributed to Tamil film music. In addition to being an actor, he has produced 8 short films and a documentary movie.
He has made an arduous expedition from being a first-generation graduate from a village to traveling across the world leaving footprints in various crafts all through the way battling against discrimination of various kinds. He fondly states that the ideology of Dravidam for equality and development has always been his inspiration.
