It is wonderful to see this book published during the peak of the IoT hype cycle, where most writing is in tweets and blog entries. It is wonderful to see this book published during the peak of the IoT hype cycle, where most writing is in tweets and blog entries. The deployment of traditional IP networks, security technology and Web infrastructure requires a lot of knowledge and skill, and understanding the Internet of Things requires a similar breadth of knowledge. Today we take that knowledge for granted because we have trained the world through books and teaching over several decades. Luckily most of the knowledge we have gained from building today’s Internet and Web services can be applied to IoT. There are, however, many aspects of IoT technologies that are new, including IPv6 over low-power networks, new applications of TLS security, efficient web transfer protocols and techniques for managing and using devices through commonly understood data objects.

This book is intended to gear the readers with a superfast crash course on deep learning. Readers are expected to have basic programming skills in any modern-day language; Python experience would be great, but is not necessary. Given the limitations on the size and depth of the subject we can cover, this short guide is intended to equip you as a beginner with sound understanding of the topic, including tangible practical experience in model development that will help develop a foundation in the deep learning domain. This guide is not recommended if you are already above the beginner level and are keen to explore advanced topics in deep learning like computer vision, speech recognition, and so on. The topics of CNN, RNN, and modern unsupervised learning algorithms are beyond the scope of this guide. We provide only a brief introduction to these to keep the readers aware contextually about more advanced topics and also provide recommended sources to explore these topics in more detail.

The birth and infancy of entrepreneurship was turned into a specific area of academic study and empirical research quite early. The field greatly evolved, and at the same time, a constant urge to deal with real problems existed, from firm creation to industrial growth, including firm strategy and economic policy. Economic, sociological, and managerial academics began to devise a detailed and interpretative framework for the study of entrepreneurship. Many people came from different fields, and there was a need to overcome the limitation of the standard neoclassical theory of entrepreneurship. New areas of research were embraced, thereby recognizing that powerful mechanisms are at work in entrepreneurship and require systematic analysis. Entrepreneurship, in a very broad sense, has always been at the heart of firm and industrial dynamics – extoling its influence on a macro level. Starting with the analysis of the specific properties and effects of entrepreneurship as an economic function, researchers then proceeded to the historical and normative analysis of resource allocation mechanisms in the field of entrepreneurship. More generally, they analysed the socio-economic institutions that could be relied upon to produce, mediate and favour entrepreneurship.
