Lord Kandan, son of Shaivism founder, Lord Sambasivam is the chosen leader of Kumarikandam. Kumarikandam is in turmoil and at cross roads with the social, economic and political upheavals. The young, radiant and divine Lord Kandan is faced with onslaught from the asura King Surapadman, when he provides refuge to Devendran and assures him of regaining his lost kingdom from the asura. There is a rebellion within his army during the final battle, between Shaivism and Vaishnavism, Sanskrit and Tamizh (Tamil as pronounced), code of conduct and the free spirit of Kumarikandam, the widening gap between poor and rich and so on. Is Lord Kandan able to navigate over all these stormy issues? Was Surapadman really bad and Devendran naive, as portrayed?
