Abhishek Banerjee is a Ranchi boy who grew up with a passion for mathematics. After graduating from Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata, he obtained his PhD in Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He began his career with a faculty position at Ohio State University and was also Maître de Conférences Associé at Collège de France in Paris. Abhishek Banerjee is a Ranchi boy who grew up with a passion for mathematics. After graduating from Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata, he obtained his PhD in Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He began his career with a faculty position at Ohio State University and was also Maître de Conférences Associé at Collège de France in Paris. He is now an Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore.
His work in academia has given him the opportunity to travel all over the world, from the sketchy lanes of Kosovo to the igneous landscapes of Reykjavik, Iceland. The more he connected with people around the world and heard their stories, the more he wanted to write a story of his hometown. One cold January morning, while at the Max Planck Institute in Germany, he began typing away.
