Bhavna Mishra was born in Lucknow, the City of Nawabs, celebrated for its timeless tehzeeb, majestic architecture, delectable cuisine, and the warmth of its people. She was lovingly called Bitti by her father, who served in the armed forces in the artillery division. His final posting was in Bikaner, where she experienced the profound loss of his passing, a moment that left a lasting imprint on her life.
After this turning point, Bhavna moved to Delhi with her mother and younger brother. Her mother, who devoted herself to the teaching profession, now serves as a principal and remains a lifelong inspiration. Her commitment to education and resilience in the face of adversity deeply influenced Bhavna’s own decision to become a teacher. Bhavna completed her graduation from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, and went on to pursue an MBA from Amity University. Today, she leads a teacher training center where she empowers aspiring educators through stories she experienced in the classrooms.
For her, storytelling is the most powerful training tool, one that transforms not just the teaching and learning process but lives. The title of the book resonates with this sentiment.
Bhavna Mishra never set out to become a teacher until life gently led her there.
What began as an uncertain choice soon became her deepest calling. With over two decades of experience in teaching, teacher training, and curriculum design, she has walked the journey from classrooms to training rooms, always carrying stories, values and hope in her stride.
A graduate of St. Stephen’s College and an MBA from Amity University, Bhavna currently heads a teacher training center, where she mentors aspiring educators not just in methods but in meaning. She believes that every child deserves a teacher who sees them and every teacher deserves to find their own “why.”
Her journey is still unfolding, but along the way, she became the story.
